The Full Story
About
This is ONT’s first science-focused exhibit and first fully immersive space, as we constantly look for ways to upgrade the passenger experience in our terminals. Few views are more peaceful and awe-inspiring than gazing at a massive aquarium bursting with life. So for California Science Center at ONT’s first exhibit, the goal was to bring the L.A. museum’s 188,000-gallon Kelp Forest to Ontario Airport passengers.

Mission
Teams of scuba divers filmed footage inside California Science Center’s aquarium. That footage is displayed on six giant screens inside the satellite site in Terminal 4. Guests can listen, too, and enjoy a spatial underwater soundscape of what its like to be immersed in one of the kelp forests you can find right off the coast of Southern California.
